PAL finally at FB and Flikr

Short post telling we created a Facebook and a Flik’r account. I’m no fan of Facebook and never been but must face the book and admit it’s a good way to connect with peeps who are off the grid. Go search us as “Pop Art Lab” and friend us there.

For long we’ve had our own pic archive here on blog (look right side under “Content”) but now we created a Pop Art Lab pic pool at Flik’r so everyone can upload and share all these awesome colourful Second Life memories. It’s important we remember the virtual history since time flies and the pics a great way to save those precious moments!

We are planning next event and it will take off within 2-3 weeks and hopefully be dedicated to some of the best electro artists around.

Wow….what a trip!!!!!

What an INCREDIBLE 1st birthday party we had at PAL! The whole sim looked amazing thanks to the lovely people at Caerleon Isle Art Collective, with swaying psychedelic flowers, some groovy fractal art and 3D acid trips! Everyone partied in an array of hippy inspired clothing which really added to the 1960’s theme chosen to celebrate Pop Art lab’s first year.

Our visitor counters went into meltdown when we reached 230 people-but the lovely new Class 5 sim did us proud and there were NO crashes-The Linden Lab gods must have been smiling down on us!!

The musicians were all awesome and we were lucky enough to see some new and established acts come and play for us-testament to the absolute professionalism of the musicians who use Second Life as a platform for showcasing their immense talent. Special thanks must go to these artists: Hazideon Zarco, Avvy Barzane, Obeloinkment Wrigglesworth, Engrama, Starflower Orbit and long time friend of PAL-Mankind Tracer.

There was a real feeling of love in the pixilated air as local chat echoed with congratulations and some funny anecdotes-it really was a great crowd of people who came to support us!

Congratulations to the whole PAL team who are some of the hardest working people in Second Life and real life media/music, but extra applause must surely go to Claus Uriza-CEO of PAL who has poured his heart and soul into making PAL the most progressive music project not only in Second Life-but in any virtual world. You rock Claus!!

I am off to sweep up empty beer tins, underwear and other rock and roll items off the floors of PAL and to look back on a hugely successful first year-bring on year 2!!!!!

To add an extra touch of crazy fun and an even bigger psychedelic twist to our 1st birthday party on Saturday 12th Sept-we have invited artists from ‘The Caerleon Art Collective’ to come and display some amazing artworks.

Sit on giant flowers, ride on top of giant insects and take a trip in a 3D LSD inspired landscape while listening to some of the best musicians in SL!

Mad Pea Designs, a company specialising in fully immersive and interactive games have also come on board the hippy train and will be rezzing some unique pieces for us here at PAL.

Claus will be spinning a cool mix of the latest electronica/hip hop/pop tunes and to keep the hippy vibe going, the freshly released ‘Beatles’ box set will be streamed in live.

So grab those love beads….wear hot pants if you dare and follow the smell of burning incense to PAL for what promises to be the party of the YEAR on Saturday Sept 12th starting at 12pm SLT
