In honour of Sabrinaa Nightfire

I am very sad to hear the news about our beloved Sabrinaa Nightfire passed away yesterday March 6. Sab was included in the cast of our upcoming Art Breaker II installation and I’ve just been inworld to take a snap of her temporary and last rezz up at her slot. (see below)

I first came to know Sab (the nick I always used) back in September 2009. Back then she came help decorate Pop Art Lab for our 1 year anniversary event. Due to a 1 month hiatus of PAL designers members of Caerleon Art Collective was called in to create the magic. Our futuristic lab was transformed into a psychedelic flower power sci-fi world overnight! I think Sab was the first to arrive Friday afternoon and when I logged in Saturday morning (CET) more than 50 flowers and fantastic creations had been rezzed! It was all Sabs.

Later on we edited designs but lots of Sabs designs were left and last years Pop Art Lab Machinima Expo shows her beautiful decorations. About 90% of the flowers in these films were made by her. For full credits please see end of films. I haven’t by now been able to find the film representing her work at its best (there were 14) but below is one.

In December 2009 we set up a huge cast for a now legendary Pop Vox show featuring MommaLuv Skytower (her SL debut actually!). If I remember correctly this was the first time we had Sab in on stage decoratons and she added over the top decos and visuals to Emily Hifengs stage. Have a look!

Lastly Sab was featured in last years Art Breaker and Iono Allen made this amazing promo vid featuring “The Blues” her inter-/reactive soundinstallation plus stagedecorations.

There were two reasons why Sab ended up as our inhouse stage deco specialist. One was her fantastic talent. Secondly but as important she knew the unwritten rules of good behavior among designers. Treat everyone with respect. She was right up our alley.

Few of us knew she were fighting cancer. I IMd her 2-3 days ago but she never replied as she always did even if she was offline. Maybe she knew it was close.

Art Breaker II will be launched in April. It’ll be dedicated to Sab. Her last rezz in Pop Art Lab will remain as a symbol for one of SLs greatest stars.

R.I.P. Sab
