Time is up! We’ll be announcing the top three winning photos in our contest!

After much thinking, a few arguments, and lots of beers consumed, the judges made from the RL/SL Pop Art Lab team have finally reached a decision. Who will the winner be? Join us to find out.

As always, Pop Art Lab can’t produce an event without having a huge party-and we have the best DJs and live music lined up for you.

A huge thank you to all the participants, to all our friends and business colleagues in both lives and to the whole PAL in world group for your continued support.

About Pop Art Lab

Pop Art Lab is a real world music research company that is exploring the use of virtual words such as Second Life as alternative music performance venues. Each week, we stream up to twenty new CD releases from world famous recording artists full length and 24/7 from our class 5 sim, so SL residents can listen to fresh music releases from all genres of music.

We also invite real life musicians, DJs and record labels into SL to encourage creative collaboration; we produce a TV music series in partnership with Treet.TV, and work with machinima makers, virtual artists and many other content creators for mutual benefit.

With a full range of services available, and a team of professional staff, Pop Art Lab is blurring the boundaries between the real and virtual. One recent music video contest gathered over one million hits and as we move into the future, our plans are to expand our activities and services in both worlds.

Above all, our mission is to make music social: by using virtual worlds such as Second Life, people can enjoy music with others from across the globe-and all in real time.

Art Breaker Launch + Pop Art Lab Anniversary!

We are pleased to announce our new partners in Art Breaker The Nordic Virtual Worlds Network (NVWN).
Currently we enhanch the 12 hour event programme for our Art Breaker launch. Also this happens to be exact same date as we had our official Pop Art Lab opening back in September 2008. Not only will this event open our 2 months and 4.000 prims exhibit of some of the very best inter-/reactive art and sound installations seen in SL but also we’ll celebrate our 2 years birthday. Therefore, expect a big bang! The event programme listed below is not final changes might occur.

Re: Pop in Japan: Tasuku Ghost

Thank you to all who was able to attend yesterdays event. Tasuku Ghost was fantastic and must be filed as a Top 10 virtual concert experience. All the DJs were excellent as well and big kudos to the PAL team.

Live music event Nov. 21

To celebrate the news that we have become member of the Second Life Solution Provider programme and also the world’s first ever virtual jukebox, we are hosting an amazing party on Saturday 21st Nov from 1-5pm SLT. Music will be provided by two of the most talented artists found in-world at the moment; the highly successful and popular Edward Kyomoon followed by MommaLuv Skytower who will perform her first ever official Second Life concert, and live DJ sets to follow.

Expect a free atmosphere, non-formal, crowded and as always celebrating the beauty of creativity inside Pop Art lab.
Edward perform rock with all the right moves, crash sims and MommaLuv brings her awesome voice and mix of selfcomposed rock, electro and hiphop beats!

Edward Kyomoon:
Starting at the age of 16 he began performing live for audiences then went on to play guitar and keyboards in several local rock bands in the early 90′s. He perform rock music and love songs ranging from the 60′s to the present, covering bands and artists such as: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Blue October, Snow Patrol, and Nine Inch Nails. As a recording engineer he produce many of the backing tracks he use for live performances.

MommaLuv Skytower:
MommaLuv Skytower is an avatar on SecondLife the alter ego of BJ Di Matteo aka Infaredhaze. Much of her work is on various websites, as she has been on the internet since the summer of August 2004 and has not stopped since. She has worked with artists from Acidplanet & CCmixter & many others from around the Globe. Her cds are sold on i-tunes & CdBAby & many others. She became an avatar upon the encouragement of many friends & has made a life there, enjoying all the perks of SecondLIfe. She also has an open invitation for anyone there to visit the LuvShack Stage & Luvshack Castle located on her LuvShack Beach.

RE: MK Event -> Lessons to be learned

Pop Art Lab went into a classroom let’s say backend of room last night! Mankind Tracer arrived and I was left out approx. 30 mins due to tech issues. And here’s why…
We set 4 sims where 1 filled stage/crew/vip and 3 left for audience.
We trusted people and I am sure they trust us! But like an amusement park well… lets keep it straight EVERYONE wanted to be front of stage. Ofcouse we should have closed this area for public access… peace outs! Limits ain’t Pop Art Labs middlename! Sum up sim 1 was lost in 100+ ppl. tryin to enter a 40 limit zone!

We tried inform clearly through the week of the guidelines but planning in VWs and especially communication can be tough!

Bits and dots from coming action at PAL!

Bits and dots.. no live events this coming weekend but lots to happen at PAL soon!

Watch out… February the 13th 2 PM SLT Mankind Tracer will come perform one of his very successfull live shows at PAL. To those not familiar with Mankind he won Best Second Life artist competetion in 2008! He is considered as the biggest SL artist and his shows attracts like 150+ avis each show!
For this event we set up stage at Bay some few hundred meters next to PAL at a 4 simcross. We will be able to host like 200+ avis like we did with the Pink Floyd tribute concert.
Mark ur calender this event will be HUGE!!!

Also the Baby Woodrose TV show is under construction and will be mid March (delayed cus they in studio recording new album). After the interview at PAL TV Studio the performance will be set up at Bay stage too.

We are filling in coming slots for artists entering TV shows so please drop me a line if u know RL artists who wants to enter the PAL TV shows!

PAL confirmed to host premiere Aerosmith event

It’s a pleasure to confirm that Pop Art Lab will be hosting the premiere Aerosmith live event October the 31. at 2 pm slt.
This will be almost as massive as the Pink Floyd kick-off tour recently. And it is the third time PAL cooperate with Cutting Edge Production bringing a show of the highest quality into SL.
This time though the show will be hold at the Pop Art Lab which will limit the number of guests to 60-70 avis.
So mark ur calender and keep u updated here this event might be limited to group members and VIP only.
