Time is up! We’ll be announcing the top three winning photos in our contest!

After much thinking, a few arguments, and lots of beers consumed, the judges made from the RL/SL Pop Art Lab team have finally reached a decision. Who will the winner be? Join us to find out.

As always, Pop Art Lab can’t produce an event without having a huge party-and we have the best DJs and live music lined up for you.

A huge thank you to all the participants, to all our friends and business colleagues in both lives and to the whole PAL in world group for your continued support.

About Pop Art Lab

Pop Art Lab is a real world music research company that is exploring the use of virtual words such as Second Life as alternative music performance venues. Each week, we stream up to twenty new CD releases from world famous recording artists full length and 24/7 from our class 5 sim, so SL residents can listen to fresh music releases from all genres of music.

We also invite real life musicians, DJs and record labels into SL to encourage creative collaboration; we produce a TV music series in partnership with Treet.TV, and work with machinima makers, virtual artists and many other content creators for mutual benefit.

With a full range of services available, and a team of professional staff, Pop Art Lab is blurring the boundaries between the real and virtual. One recent music video contest gathered over one million hits and as we move into the future, our plans are to expand our activities and services in both worlds.

Above all, our mission is to make music social: by using virtual worlds such as Second Life, people can enjoy music with others from across the globe-and all in real time.

Screening of a Pop Art Lab Party

Friday October 15th 12pm!

Each year Copenhagen, Denmark celebrate Culture of Night RL. This evening all major museums, shops and cultural institutions have open all eve/night and everything is free.

As part of a SL presentation via 12 computers where RL attendees will be helped into SL and 2-3 big screens in the RL Danish Ministry of Science there will be given tours for the attendees to various art exhibitions and happenings in SL

We want to show the RL attendees who step by to see what SL is all about – a thriving party!

The Pop Art Lab Party will be screened via projector at the RL venue.

Art Breaker Launch + Pop Art Lab Anniversary!

We are pleased to announce our new partners in Art Breaker The Nordic Virtual Worlds Network (NVWN).
Currently we enhanch the 12 hour event programme for our Art Breaker launch. Also this happens to be exact same date as we had our official Pop Art Lab opening back in September 2008. Not only will this event open our 2 months and 4.000 prims exhibit of some of the very best inter-/reactive art and sound installations seen in SL but also we’ll celebrate our 2 years birthday. POP ART LAB invites you to a 5 hour event featuring the best DJ’s and live music from Japanese musician arai tasuku.

Using the avatar name of Tasuku Ghost here in SL, his work is dreamlike, full of long lost memories and ethereal images with layers of sampled and original electronic, house and ambient music providing the perfect sound track to his gentle lyrics.
His main work is producing musical scores for movies and theatre, but Tasuku is passionate about performing solo to SL audiences too. Don’t miss this truly magical musician whose unique sounds will spirit you away.

First Event New PAL Tonight

Summer’s here and due to vacations we are still goofing the sun.
But suddenly Mankind Tracer SLs premier rock artist with the largest following in-world hits PAL Sunday eve in Europe timezone and noon in US.

Winner of the Second Life Resident Choice Award 2009 for Favorite SL Musician, is planning yet another HUGE Second Life concert event. He will be streaming his show LIVE to 20 SIMS all around the SL Grid for this year’s Peace, Love and Belief III Concert.

Last year’s Peace, Love and Belief II Multi Sim Concert lasted roughly 5.5 hours of Mankind performing LIVE!

Get on ur dancing shoes and come enjoy – we will provide u with the best DJ set of new music picks before and after the concert.

Last Event at Old PAL!

A friend did one of her first machinima shots from the last days of PAL at Fridays [Engrama] event.
We are currently moving the builds to the sky in our new full sim and expect opening asap.
Next few months a giant newly designed PAL will be created. Expect some of SLs very best talents to come up with an amazing sim!

A brief report from last nights event!
Everything worked smoothe and all 5 artists did awesome live gigs. All streams were set perfect and even though a very tight schedule no delay at all.
The local counter read 175 unique guests this morning and only counts in a close range to landing point which means all peeps who TP’d direct to audience area by friends excluded. So more likely about 250 peeps came and went throughout the 4-5 hour event. Good numbers!
Read reports recently claiming live gigs in SL has a downturn at the moment – well once again what to say? Pop Art Lab don’t see this downturn infact we see the opposite… a fast growing group and a fully packed sim!

We also produce a variety of TV shows broadcast via SLCN.TV and in collaboration with RL TV broadcasting services. We are the sound of the future…..
