Persia bit the robo DJ g’nite after 6 hours event 3 AM!
A brief report from last nights event!
Everything worked smoothe and all 5 artists did awesome live gigs. All streams were set perfect and even though a very tight schedule no delay at all.
The local counter read 175 unique guests this morning and only counts in a close range to landing point which means all peeps who TP’d direct to audience area by friends excluded. So more likely about 250 peeps came and went throughout the 4-5 hour event. Good numbers!
Read reports recently claiming live gigs in SL has a downturn at the moment – well once again what to say? Pop Art Lab don’t see this downturn infact we see the opposite… a fast growing group and a fully packed sim! :)

Max Kleene doing his gig fronting 70 peeps crowd
Great respect and thanx goes to Emily Hifeng, Starflower Orbit, Persia Bravin, Gustavo Lionhart and Mozy Pera for helping throughout event.

May 22th Friday 3 PM

Pop Art Lab set up the first live event after the C5 sim upgrade. We are currently working out the programme. However confirmed by now is it Max Morgan will be headlining. To those who still haven’t heard of Max plz check out his site.

His recently released CD Interrupting the Silence got a nice review at Pop Matters (the acclaimed indie E-mag):

Pop Matters 6/10
Liverpudlian Max Morgan has a rather light, airy voice on the opening number “Loneliest Man in the World”, a rather strong but unadventurous pop tune in the vein of the Fray with a pinch of Snow Patrol on top. However, what makes it stand out is the melody, something that seems to shine and stick a la Crowded House. This definitely applies when “Secret” comes along during the latter half. And while some of these tunes have had prime television airings (Grey’s Anatomy), Morgan creates a rather cohesive, above average affair on the backs of sweet pop tunes like “Sold Out to the Scene”, which recalls the Calling and a rather rowdier Jonas Brothers (in this case, the latter being a good thing). However, the standard ballads “Wait for Me” and “Trouble” are something you really don’t need to wait for, as it’s all be done here before. Fortunately, the Oasis-like “Feel (Whoever You Are)” and the up-tempo, edgy, Pete Yorn-ish “Suffer” suffer from nothing but great hooks and great pipes from Morgan. Perhaps the real surprise or dark horse of the 11 tracks is the McCartney-ish piano nugget “Nobody’s Coming to My Rescue” which is a gentle, pensive and pretty effort.

Check back next coming days for further info.

A short report from best concert I’ve seen in SL till now!

It was a true pleasure to host Max Morgans SL premiere last night. Despite some 15 mins delay on Pop Vox interview everything worked smoothe.

Max did a kewl interview and thumbs up and great respect! He is certainly an artist we can expect to hear much more from in the future. Watch it here!

After the interview we headed to the PAL Bay Stage in the center of 4 sims. There Max performed a 45 mins live set of absolute top quality in both sound and music.

I had the same feeling as when I once heard Jeff Buckley live in the start 90s. I really dig Max’ coming CD but live and solo he sounded so rockin’ I have not seen alike at those 100+ concerts I’ve been to in SL!

The greatest respect goes to the entire crew behind this production:
